Sin, Confession and Redemption

~Sin is The dividing (barrier) wall between God and Man.

(Romans 6:23)  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

~God has provided the solution to getting rid of the barrier, It’s in making a decision to turn away from sin and in receiving His forgiveness by accepting His one and only Son Jesus Christ as the Sacrificial offering for our sins.

(2Chronicles 7:14)  if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

(Isaiah 59:1-2)  1  Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.  2  But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

~God has always revealed Himself through His awesome Creation; through His Powerful Word; and Through His Great Love for us.

(Romans 1:18-20)  18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.  20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

~ This is how God showed His love for us: He sent his one and only Son Jesus Christ / The Savior into the world that we might live through Him.

(1John 4:9-10)  This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.  10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

(John 3:16)   "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son

that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

(1John 5:11-12)  11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

(Ephesians 1:7-8)  7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace  8  that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

(Colossians 1:13-14)  13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,  14  in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

(Romans 1:16)  I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

~Jesus Christ came to earth in order to confirm that He was the promised Messiah, the Savior of the world and also to set the perfect example for us to follow in His footsteps.

(Luke 7:11-17)  11 Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him.  12  As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out - the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.  13  When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't cry."  14  Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!"  15  The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.  16  They were all filled with awe and praised God. "A great prophet has appeared among us," they said. "God has come to help his people."  17  This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country.

(John 20:30-31)  30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are are not recorded in this book (The Bible).  31  But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

(Matthew 15:1-3, 15:7-9)  1 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,  2  "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!"  3  Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?  7   You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:  8   "'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.  9   They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'"

(Matthew 26:3-4)  3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,  4  and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him.

~The arrest of Jesus and His crucifixion.

(Matthew 14:46)  The men seized Jesus and arrested him.

(Mark 14:55, 14:65)  55 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any.

65  Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, "Prophesy!" And the guards took him and beat him.

(Mark 15:1, 15:12-14, 15:17-20, 15:26, 15:31-32)  1 Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedrin, reached a decision. They bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.  12  "What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?" Pilate asked them.  13  "Crucify him!" they shouted.  14  "Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!"

17  They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him.  18  And they began to call out to him, "Hail, king of the Jews!"  19  Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him.  20  And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him. 26  The written notice of the charge against him read: THE KING OF THE JEWS. 31  In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him among themselves. "He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself!  32  Let this Christ, this King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe.

(Luke 23:34)  Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

(Mark 15:37, 39)  37 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.  39  And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"

~The confirmation that Jesus indeed is the author of life and that He guarantees the resurrection of the dead for those who put their trust in Christ.

(Matthew 27: 51-54)  51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split.  52  The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.  53  They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.  54  When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!"

~ To those who approach God with a sincere heart, He promises eternal life, and this life is in His Son Jesus Christ

(1John 5:11-15)  11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  12  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  13  I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.  14  This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

15  And if we know that he hears us -whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.

(Acts 13:26-30)  26 "Brothers, children of Abraham, and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent.  27  The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.  28  Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed.  29  When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.  30  But God raised him from the dead,

(Acts 3:15)  You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

(1Corinthians 15:3-4)  3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  4  that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

~It is wiser to accept Jesus as Lord of your life while you are here on earth than to later face him in the coming age as your judge.

(Romans 14:11-12)  11 It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.'"  12  So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

(Philippians 2:9-11)  9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,  10  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  11  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

~God gives us a glimpse into the future when The Dead are judged according to what they did while they lived here on earth.

(Revelations 20:11-15)  11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.  12  And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.  13  The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.  14  Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.  15  If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

~To those who put their trust in Him God promises that they will see a new heaven and a new earth.

(Revelations 21:1-4)  1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.  2  I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.  3  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.  4  He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

~The following Scriptures will show how important it is for us to strive towards getting to  know God personally, and why we should make a strong  effort to understand His ways and laws.

(Psalms 119:165)  Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.

(Jeremiah 9:23-24)  23 This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches,  24  but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.

~God is full of Mercy and Truth.

(Jeremiah 31: 34)  No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

~God’s appeal is for His people to make every effort to acquire/gain His Wisdom & Instructions for Godly/Skillful Living

(Proverbs 2:1-8)  1 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,  2  turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding,  3  and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,  4  and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,  5  then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.  6  For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.  7  He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,  8  for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.

~Further Benefits of Wisdom

(Proverbs 3:1-2)  1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,  2  for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.

(Proverbs 3:13-18)  13 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding,  14  for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.  15  She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.  16  Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.  17  Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.  18  She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.

(Proverbs 4:6-10)  6 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.  7  Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.  8  Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.  9  She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor."  10  Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.

(Proverbs 6:22-23)  22 When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.  23  For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life,

(Proverbs 8:10-11)  10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold,  11  for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

(Proverbs 8:14-18) 14  Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have understanding and power.  15  By me kings reign and rulers make laws that are just;  16  by me princes govern, and all nobles who rule on earth.  17  I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.  18  With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.

(Proverbs 9:11-12)  11 For through me your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.  12  If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer."

(Proverbs 10:4)  Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

(Proverbs 11:25)  A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

(Proverbs 12:18)  Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

(Proverbs 12:24)  Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.

(Proverbs 13:20)  He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

(Proverbs 15:30)  A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

(Proverbs 16:32)  Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.

(Proverbs 17:22)  A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

(Proverbs 22:24-25)  24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered,  25  or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.

(Proverbs 23:26)  My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways,

(Jeremiah 29:13)  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

~Jesus Christ The Son Of God became the living Word of God incarnated (took on human form, flesh and blood).

(John 1:1, John 1:3-5, John 1:10-14)  1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  3  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  4  In him was life, and that life was the light of men.  5  The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.  10  He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.  11  He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.  12  Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God -  13  children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.  14  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

(Romans 4:25)  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

~We all are in need of God’s help and are in need of His salvation.

~Walking / living in the Light of His word.

(1John 1:5-10, 1 John 2:1-6)  5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.  6  If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.  7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.  8  If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.  9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.  10  If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

2:1  My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.  2  He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.  3  We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.  4  The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  5  But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:  6  Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

(John 15:12-13, 15:17)   12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  13   Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.  14   You are my friends if you do what I command.  17   This is my command: Love each other.

~For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

(Acts 2:21-24, Acts 2:32)  21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'  22  "Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.  23  This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.  24  But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.  32  God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact.

(Acts 10:38-40)  38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.  39  "We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a tree,  40  but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.

(John 20:30)  Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book (The Bible).  31  But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

~Through the new birth into The Kingdom and Family of God, God has promised to take care of you.

(2Chronicles 7:14)  if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

(2Corinthians 6:18)  "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

(Romans 10:9-13)  9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.  11  As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."  12  For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,  13  for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
